If you build it, they will rock
Add media files to your library. Merge multiple collections into one with the Professional Edition.
Merge can build your library right now. Later, you may want to use MediaMerge Professional to reorganize it.
Using Concrete MediaMerge™ to add to your library
When using MediaMerge to add media files only to your library, leave the "Copy Here" text box blank.
MediaMerge is primarily used with Concrete DJ to add media files to the library. Simply select a search path and click start. MediaMerge also merges multiple collections into C:\My Music\, organizing your files into folders by artist. When merging, MediaMerge automatically renames media files using the most common industry standard; artist - title.typ, where typ is mp3, wma or whatever sound file formats you are using. Media files are merged into folders by artist, or subfolders by album title. Concrete Merge uses tag information contained within the sound file. By default, Concrete Merge and Concrete DJ use the following folders. C:\My Music\ The location of your sound files if you are using a single hard drive. C:\My Music Ripped\ The location of ripped sounds files from Concrete Ripper. C:\Concrete Tools\ The location of Concrete Tool utility programs; Recorder, Ripper, Editor, Minii, and Video player. C:\My Videos\ The location of your video files if you are using a single hard drive. C:\Album Art\ The location of your album art files downloaded from Concrete DJ if you have an active Internet connection. Large album art files are stored in the main album art folder with subfolders for medium and thumbnail (small) sizes. Large size art files are named Artist - Album Title.2.jpg. C:\Album Art\Medium\ Medium sized album art. Medium size art files are named Artist - Album Title.1.jpg. C:\Album Art\Small\ Small sized album art. Thumbnail size art files are named Artist - Album Title.0.jpg. X:\Duplicates\ Where X is the optional drive letter or path you supplied in Concrete Merge to copy duplicates and unknown files. X:\Unknown\ Where X is the optional drive letter or path you supplied in Concrete Merge to copy duplicates and unknown files. C:\Concrete DJ\ Where Concrete DJ should be be installed for best results. C:\Concrete DJ\Help\ Where Concrete DJ keeps help files. C:\Concrete DJ\Logs\ Where Concrete DJ keeps log files for system events, errors and lists of previously played sound files by date. C:\Concrete DJ\Lyrics\ Where Concrete DJ stores lyrics files in .LRC format for karaoke applications. C:\Concrete DJ\Playlists\ Where Concrete DJ stores playlists in .m3u or .pls formats. You can also import .wpl playlist from Media Player and .XML playlists from other programs. C:\Concrete DJ\Sounds\ Where Concrete DJ stores sound clips. Any sound files stored in this folder are available for immediate sound-on-sound playback of applause and other sound effects in Concrete DJ with a single click. C:\Concrete DJ\System\ Where Concrete DJ stores your music library as music.dat. Also in the system folder are Concrete DJ initialization files (.ini) and other Concrete DJ programs including ConcreteMerge.exe, ConcreteEditor.exe, ConcreteRecorder.exe, ConcreteVideo.exe and other utility programs. C:\Concrete DJ\Tmp\ Where Concrete DJ stores temporary files and where you can too if you want to when ripping to new formats or creating remixed sound files..
Importing an existing library from another program
If you've already got it, use it. Import your existing library and playlists from iTunes, Media Player, and other popular DJ programs. iTunes® is the best donor. Update your existing library with an Internet connection If it supports it, update the sound file information in the library with an active Internet connection, then export the library to a file on your desktop. If you are using other media players, iTunes® is the best donor. It has extensive update capabilities and the most comprehensive information. No library, no problem It works great to start with iTunes® an active Internet connection to search your drive(s) for multimedia files, correcting misspellings and other errors in your sound files. Export the music library to your desktop Export the music library, iTunes®, Windows Media Player®, or PC DJ®, to a .XML export file on your desktop. Follow the instructions for your other software.
